Overview

Guate's Dog Rescue is a dog adoption site based in Guatemala. It was created with HTML, CSS, and contains Bootstrap components. Adobe Illustrator was used to create the logo and Adobe XD for the low-fidelity wireframes.

Description

This project was created with a special goal in mind: give homeless dogs from Guatemala another chance.

Given that Guatemala is a country with overpopulation of homeless dogs, my main objective for this project was to create a user-friendly, accessible, and responsive website, which users would use to check what dogs are currently available for adoption, and easily find all the steps needed for the adoption process, from start to finish.

Unfortunately, most of the websites regarding dog adoptions in Guatemala are either not responsive or are not being updated and maintained regularly, or both. That is why, through this website, I aim to help homeless dogs have a better opportunity to find their forever home.

The site contains the following:

Form and contact information so users can make appointments to visit the dog shelter and get to know the dogs.

Form and contact information so users can report a lost dog and/or dog cruelty.

A list of all the dogs that are currently available for adoption, along with images and information about each one.

A Donate now button for users who wish to contribute to the shelter. All donations received would be used to purchase the shelter's expenses, and also to provide the dogs an appropriate medical care, which includes spay and neuter surgeries.

A list of resources that leads the user to third-party sites to learn about important dog care information.

Responsive navigation and design so the content is accessible on all mobile devices as well as tablets and desktops.
